Throughout the year, media camps take place at various locations with a select group of creators who then communicate through their stories, photos, podcasts, TV shows and more. Hayward Lakes Area, May 21 – May 25, 2023
The group stayed at Deerfoot Lodge on the Chippewa Flowage. They enjoyed delicious food, gained insights into the history of the lodges in the area, and met some wonderful people. They fished the flowage with St Croix Panfish series rods and Al’s Goldfish lures. They caught a variety of crappies, walleyes, bluegills, perch, and pike. The camp also included tours of the St Croix Rod Factory and the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame. Niagara River, February 14 – February 17, 2023
AGLOW traveled to Lewiston, NY, to fish the famous river connecting Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. The Niagara River is a year-round fishing destination featuring hard-fighting steelhead, lake trout, brown trout, walleye and more. Using the new 2-piece X Trek rods from St Croix we caught all four species. They visited Niagara Falls and the Greater Niagara Fishing Expo. Lake of the Woods, January 29 – February 1, 2023
The “Walleye Capital of the World” in northern Minnesota was our destination for an “Ice Fishing Media Camp”. The group stayed at River Bend Resort and fished with ice rod and reel combos from Favorite and Zebco along with lures from Live Target. They experienced non-stop action with plenty of eaters providing a delicious fish fry when they returned to the lodge. The fish were cleaned using Mr Crappie electric fillet knives from Smith’s Consumer Products. Attendees included Carrie Zylka, Dena Vick, Sid Dobrin, Dan Small, Jonathan Small, Steve Griffon, Dan Amundson, and Bret Amundson.
